Questions about Commercial Vehicles Belts? You’re covered.

Dayaco Prime is a leading distributor of industrial products, serving as the official representative for a variety of well-respected brands including Michelin, Bando, Power Rope, Veltex, and Eaton. In addition to these core brands, Dayaco Prime also acts as a sales agent for a comprehensive selection of other industrial supplies.

Dayaco Prime understands the importance of maintaining consistent inventory levels to meet the needs of their clients. However, due to the dynamic nature of supply and demand, inventory levels for certain belts may fluctuate. To ensure they can best assist you, Dayaco Prime recommends contacting a sales representative for the most up-to-date information on current stock and product availability.

The answer to this question is different depending on the type and function of the belts. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for your device or vehicle.

Dayaco Prime offers several key advantages:

  • Superior Quality: We source our belts from industry-leading manufacturers renowned for their commitment to quality and performance.
  • Wide Variety: We carry a comprehensive selection of belts for various applications, ensuring you find the perfect fit for your needs.
  • Expertise & Support: Our team possesses extensive knowledge about power transmission solutions and can provide expert advice to help you choose the right belts.
  • Reliable Performance: Dayaco Prime belts are engineered for optimal performance and durability, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.

OE-designed belts will typically run 70,000 to 100,000 miles, however, it is recommended that all belts be inspected at about 50,000 miles and at every oil change after that, to ensure belt rib wear is still acceptable, as well as no failures related to edge cord fray/pop-out and/or rib cracking/chunk-out.

There are two main causes of belt noise: pulley misalignment causing an intermittent belt noise called “chirp” and low belt tension causing a continuous belt noise called “squeal”.

Belt wear can be difficult to detect because newer belts made with EPDM rubber tend to wear like tire tread, where there is material loss from the rib surface. A new belt will have a traditional “V” profile in the grooves between the ribs. On a worn EPDM belt, however, the groove profile will have the appearance of a “U”. If your belt has 90,000 miles or more, it is time to change it. Check out our video for a step–by–step guide to measuring belt wear.
